Integrity lessons with Priti Patel

Priti Patel has waded into the debate over Palestinian statehood on the side of the country she was sacked for holding a load of treasonous secret meetings with, and insists Starmer has no integrity!

Priti Patel has waded into the debate over UK recognition of Palestinian statehood to promote the Israeli view that the Palestinian people should be kept in occupied stateless limbo.

It’s hardly surprising that Patel would go onto Talk TV to publicly promote the Israeli position like this, given that she was sacked in 2017 over a bunch of secret meetings she held with the Israelis - in which she attempted to divert UK aid money to illegally occupied Israeli territories - and then for lying about the extent of her secret, undocumented, ministerial code breaking Israel collaboration.

She was sacked again in 2020 for bullying civil servants, resulting in a £340,000 payoff for one of her victims (paid out of public cash, not her own pocket), but somehow she’s managed to resurface once again as shadow Foreign Secretary for the Tories, like a turn that just won’t flush.

The real problem with Starmer’s position on statehood for the Palestinian people isn’t that it’s upsetting Israeli genocidiers and their UK-based operatives like Priti Patel, it’s the absurd caveats that Starmer’s added, which actually seem to give Israel a perverse incentive to intensify their genocidal atrocities, as, in their own words, they’re in "a race against time" to "wipe out" Gaza.

Plenty of Israelis have openly admitted that they’re deliberately using starvation tactics as collective punishment against Palestinian civilians (an absolutely brazen war crime), yet Patel duplicitously tried to muddy the waters by insinuating that "people are starving and suffering" in Gaza because of Hamas, rather than as a result of the illegal Israeli blockade on food, water, energy, and medical supplies.

Patel also used her Talk TV interview to fulminate that Keir Starmer "has no political integrity".

I mean Starmer’s lack of integrity is well known to anyone who paid attention to his 2020 Labour leadership campaign, and the "10 Pledges" he made, with absolutely intention of sticking to them once he’d conned himself into power.

However, it’s a bit damned much that a twice-sacked disgrace like Priti Patel thinks she’s got a leg to stand on in criticising anyone else for lack of integrity.

Just imagine the kind of person who would take integrity lessons from a repeatedly disgraced foreign asset and bully like Priti Patel!

And imagine the kind of media outlet that would let someone as compromised as Patel have their say on Israel-Palestine issues, without even bothering to remind their viewers how she was sacked in disgrace over her secret collusion with the Israeli state!
