The audacity
Just ten days after the brutal killing of Labour MP Jo Cox, Daily Mail hack Dan Hodges called for Jeremy Corbyn to be killed, now he's lecturing others about MP's safety!
After Labour leader Keir Starmer and the supposedly neutral Speaker Lindsay Hoyle caused outrage by sabotaging the SNP’s Gaza ceasefire motion purely to avoid reference to Israeli war crimes, they deliberately whipped up an Islamophobic panic to draw attention away from their corrupt scheming.
You can only try to imagine the torrents of media outrage if Jeremy Corbyn (who wanted to raise the taxes of wealthy hacks a bit) had ever sabotaged Parliamentary procedure and then tried cover his own arse by blaming it on unspecified threats from Jews.
But somehow the press isn’t just allowing Keir Starmer (who says he won’t raise the taxes of wealthy hacks) to get away with whipping up anti-Muslim hate, they’re actively amplifying his Islamophobic panic for him.
The Daily Mail’s Dan Hodges waded in to do Starmer’s dirty work by portraying overwhelmingly peaceful Palestinian solidarity marches as a violent "mob" and calling for even more authoritarian crackdowns on the longstanding British right to engage in non-violent political protest.
Neither Labour nor hacks like Hodges can point to any actual threats against MPs by Gaza ceasefire protesters, and if any such threats have actually been made they should clearly be reported to the police and made public so that the overwhelming majority of peaceful Palestinian solidarity protesters can distance themselves from the perpetrators.
It’s absolutely telling that the best Labour could come up with to amplify Starmer’s Islamophobic panic was a completely non-violent protest at the office of Glasgow Labour MP John Sweeney, which he described as protesters "storming" in and acting in a "terrifying" and "threatening" manner.
The police were called, and later confirmed that there had been no threats, or violence, or storming, and that the protesters were simply given access to the building by someone who let them through the door.
There’s video of this supposedly hideous and dangerous protest, so you can judge for yourself whether Labour’s version of events is accurate.
It’s bad enough that media hacks are deliberately amplifying Starmer’s Islamophobic panic and calling for even more tyrannical restrictions on British people’s ability to hold politicians to account, but it’s downright astonishing that Dan Hodges of all people has pushed himself to the front of this authoritarian Islamophobic propaganda war.
Where were his concerns about MP’s safety when he used his Daily Mail column to call for the killing of Jeremy Corbyn just days after Labour MP Jo Cox had been brutally murdered?
He obviously didn’t have any concerns at all, because this is all just a game to horrible hacks like Hodges.
He hated Jeremy Corbyn because he wanted to raise the taxes of wealthy hacks like him and boot the infestation of private profiteers out of Britain’s core infrastructure and services, so he saw no problem putting his name to an article calling for Corbyn to be killed just days after a Labour MP had been brutally murdered in the street.
Starmer and Hoyle cooked up an Islamophobic panic to save their own skins and Hodges wilfully plays along with it instead of calling it out as the horrible nonsense it obviously is, because he likes Starmer’s right-wing authoritarian agenda and wants to silence those who want Israel’s atrocities in Gaza to stop.
One law for them, another for us.
clrearly Starmer suffers from inteegrititis - a total lack of integrity. I will never vote Labour again till he is deposed.
