I hope Galloway gets to speak at the very next PMQ's.

It would be a further travesty if he didn't - given the Speaker's recent track-record.

Yes I’d love to see that

Summed up very well

The amount of BS flying around today is cringeworthy, Labour claiming some sort of moral high ground is laughable enough but a caller on the bbc radio phone in this morning claiming that Galloway was a threat to the existence of Jews in Britain really took the biscuit!

YES ,TYPICALLY, JEWS WHO GET AIRTIME ON THE BBC PLAY THE VICTIM CARD FROM THE OUTSET .It's kind of pathetic, because socially and academically, Jews are advantaged in so many ways and are at a far lesser risk of harm than the many other minorities in the UK..Those minorities are at much greater risk of harm from the UK's toxic Tories and Starmer's Islamophobic Party that has already actioned exclusions of so many Jewish Labour Party members and indeed anyone who Sir K feels is not 100% agreeing with his peculiar narrow views

Really pleased that George and his team have secured this seat !! It is so important for many reasons, and I hope that independent candidates up and down the UK CAN LEARN THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO WIN SEATS WITH THE RIGHT CAUSES AND TACTICS !!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL CONCERNED IN ROCHDALE

Thanks Patrick. I'm from Rochdale and I voted for GG.

Does anyone know when the Oxford Union address took place? Is it recent or years ago?

What it proves, with an independent only campaigning on local issues coming a good second, is that people are far more willing to vote for non-establishment candidates than most people who are either part of the political/media establishment, or who get their knowledge of politics through the mass media, realise. Those of us who have been out on the street listening to the voters know it. The next general election is NOT going to be business as usual.

The Oxford Union speech was recorded on Monday 14th October 2013. Here's a longer version of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTTXh9NG6Dg

Christ, the only good news is he will be gone again by Christmas. The dictator loving, opportunist, self publicist is back. God its depressing

It is an incredibly sad indictment of the state of British politics that an obviously self serving ego centric prick like GG can break ground by stating obvious truths that other "sensible" politicians don't.

I think I aggree. GG will say anything to get elected l, in a sense that's just democracy working. However just look at the polls on the death penalty and the uk is still in favour even though its was ended by law in 69 55 years ago. For all that time all the governments of the day have in a way been anti democratic. GG is a populist and a dick. That said, I am infavor or a wider set of PMs from different positions its just a shem its him. Mixed feeling from me. And he could mix things up and be fun!

OMG I think I'd drink myself into a stupour if Starmer has a Portillo moment at the GE

Apart from the Scottish independence issue, I also think that advocating leaving the EU under a Tory government was bad judgement, especially standing alongside Farage. I think if your strength of feeling on a particular issue overrides common sense, it's a worry. Great two fingers up to the establishment though!

It's great that "he’s got the humanity to speak out against genocide and war crimes" in this instance. However, he's not the kind and decent person that some progressives make him out be. The side which he takes in any dispute can be predicted by remembering that he's alway's been pro-Muslim and anti-West. He's not anti-oppression. Hence pro-Russia, pro-Saddam.

Thanks AAV for addressing the subject of Galloway's win in Rocdale with an even handed assessment of his potential. Also for acknowledging GG's humanitarian credentials. I do not agree with some of his opinions, however it cannot be denied, as a politician, he has more integrity than the collective Tory and Labour front bench combined.
