Why are Starmtroopers so furious that Owen Jones did what Keir Starmer said, and left Labour because he can't support austerity, privatisation, and genocide complicity?
I'm afraid Mr Jones has a short memory. He was a turn coat towards his leader at the time, then played his part in the downfall of in my opinion, as Left of a leader that ever got close to breaking the Status Que establishment.
The best thing to do is for all the left to tell Labour, "if you don't want a future, you don't have to have one." Money may be many things, but votes it is not.
Brilliant. I said on his YouTube announcement that we need a coalition of all socialists in order to get out of the current situation. I read the Workers Party of Britain's manifesto which resonated with me but its membership is small, so every socialist standing needs supporting. For me, that isn't the Green Party, but we will have to see what our choices are at the next election. Great to see a campaign underway.
The little worms a bit late for the party? He was late during the Corbyn leadership too (if I remember correctly). It was about the time I stopped reading the Guardian...
Dare I remind people that Keir Starmer is not the first Labour politician to espouse right wing and authoritarian policies. He's treading the same path as Oswald Mosley in the 1930's.
That is quite daring, but worth the reminder. Moseley started off as a Tory though, before switching to Labour, and his eventually settling in his British Union of Fascists overcoat. Starmer’s always been an establishment man. That is not to say he won’t follow the lead off further & further right wing. He might.
"Since then he’s gone all-in on economically illiterate austerity, NHS privatisation, and genocide complicity."
It is fascinating that your article never mentions Brexit - the most economically illiterate policy of all! It's perplexing that Labour are still refusing to condemn Brexit for the hardship it is imposing on their voters.
My thoughts exactly. Never stopped moaning when Corbyn was leader.
Well done Owen

Owen Jones has one quality Tories and Labour lack: Integrity.

Better late than never, but does it tell us that he is a bit slow to catch on?
I thought this is what he wanted. It’s certainly the impression he gave when Corbyn was leader.
