I'm rather hoping that with the revised constituency boundaries, she loses the seat in Pudsey that she's chosen to go for. I'm escaping her anyway, my bit of the constituency has been shifted to Morley.

Absolutely spot on. I can confirm that as a civil servant my pay has lost around 25% of its value since the tories got in, many of my colleagues are claiming benefits and get a pay increase when minimum wage goes up. The resulting drop in our so-called “gold plated” pensions means many of us can’t afford to retire, and all they want to do is set us and the private sector against each other, rather than have us unite against our common enemy. Sadly labour offer no hope of changing anything.

Whatever happens we’re all screwed.

Fuck Starmer and reeves 🤬

Funding Both Sides: How Jewish Money Controls British Politics . . .

“During the previous Labour government, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were ardent Zionists because they accepted the justice of Israel’s cause, not because Labour’s chief fund-raisers were first the Jew Michael Levy and then the Jew Jonathan Mendelsohn (both are now members of the House of Lords). And during the current Conservative government, David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson have been ardent Zionists because they too accept the justice of Israel’s cause, not because the Conservatives’ chief fund-raisers have been first the Jew Sir Mick Davis and then the Jew Sir Ehud Sheleg.”

This was always the plan when they got rid of Corbyn

Yeah, they got rid of Corbyn because of greed. Nothing at all to do with antisemitism!

I’m sure you don’t really believe that any government is ever permanently bound by any rules that they themselves introduce and can clearly amend with Parliament’s backing.

Also she has never said to the Financial Times that she wants to legislate permanent austerity!

Starmer's gang isn't even Tory Lite anymore but full on Tory HD. The UK is now in freefall to a one party police state and a return to serfdom and the poorhouse.

The only ones "appeased" by this lunacy are The Elites and The Entrenched Establishment Chumocracy............!!!

As a foreigner, I didn't have comprehensive knowledge of backgrounds of England's economic history, but permanent austerity? It's rare to see one of the modern countries managed by a greedy governmental official who doesn't care about the citizens.

It's helpless to live in countries that the leaders dare to promise 'building a wall' style of promise. In Western world, governments should be the servants of people in the country, but I guess power and money make people lose their humanity and ethics.

Austerity and Brexit. I feel for the UK. Has there been a post mortem done on Brexit and why it was introduced in the first place and who profited from the whole debacle?

Expand full comment

I'm sure there's a post about that around here somewhere. Of course, it's easy to see who profited - those who were already receiving tax breaks, and their chums.

As you've said before, "austerity" is one of the worst policies! People need decent wages, products need to be affordable, to increase buying capability, so that it invests back into the coffers, rather than trying to freeze them, which has led to this extended debt.

"These rules will apply to every decision taken by a Labour government. We will not borrow to fund day-to-day spending and we will reduce national debt as a share of the economy."

When given context that you provide this is a chilling statement. Part of me is hoping for some very dark stuff we won't all survive if we are to have a hope of a future that is the best for the inhabitants of this planet. So much deception, so little chance of escape, it's scary that they seem to want it to happen.
