I can confirm that as a civil servant my pay has lost around 25% of its value since the tories got in, many of my colleagues are claiming benefits and get a pay increase when minimum wage goes up. The resulting drop in our so-called “gold plated” pensions means many of us can’t afford to retire, and all they want to do is set us and the private sector against each other, rather than have us unite against our common enemy. Sadly labour offer no hope of changing anything.

As a foreigner, I didn't have comprehensive knowledge of backgrounds of England's economic history, but permanent austerity? It's rare to see one of the modern countries managed by a greedy governmental official who doesn't care about the citizens.
It's helpless to live in countries that the leaders dare to promise 'building a wall' style of promise. In Western world, governments should be the servants of people in the country, but I guess power and money make people lose their humanity and ethics.
