Facebook's decision to quit fact-checking popular content on their site is yet another step towards post-truth politics, where blatant lies have the same currency as reliably-sourced information.

I do interact with several people who fled Facebook, and at least one of the authors I follow is heading for Discord, where I interact with Anticapitalist Resistance.
I tried to sign up with Bluesky. It's easy until you get to the part they ask for your birth date. Instead of letting you type it in you have to scroll through the calendar, month by month. I was born in 1943, I scrolled and scrolled and gave up when I got to the early 2000s. I just don't have that much time on my hands - perhaps not that much time left. Whoever thought that one up wasn't thinking - another bad design in a world of bad design. Does anyone have an idea how I can get past the lifetime of scrolling to enter my birth date?
1) NONE of the "fact-checked" posts on Facebook contained any misinformation, on the contrary, they contained truth and facts that were deleted and replaced with lies by the "fact checkers". 2) most of these "fact checkers" are Israeli Zionists who delete everything that speaks about history of Palestine and Zionist colonization, other "fact checkers" delete all information on history of imperial aggression, biopolitics, communist struggle, covert regime change plots as well as all information on scientific and medical fraud. 3) people are not infantile or mentally retarded, they can and will check themselves whether what they are seeing is true or not - everyone has means to do so. Parental controls over an adult population is what Bernays dreamed about and Sunstein made come true. It transforms adult human beings into 5-year-olds.
