The Relentless Bombardment of Bullshit

Westminster politicians and Britain's depraved media hacks proved to themselves that they can achieve their aims by flooding political discourse with absolute bullshit, so why would they ever stop?

Once upon a time there was a guy who wanted to make Britain a little bit fairer. Part of that meant clamping down on political corruption, removing Britain’s debilitating infestation of privatisation profiteers from our core infrastructure and services, and making wealthy journalists and their media mogul bosses pay a little bit more in tax.

Britain’s horrible political establishment class and depraved media hack pack reacted in horror and sought to oust him before he could even fight a general election via their profoundly cynical and spectacularly failed Chicken Coup, but he just came back with an even stronger mandate, and almost won the 2017 General Election on the back of an unprecedented surge in support.

From a looming Labour wipe out when the election was called, to wiping out Theresa May’s parliamentary majority on the day. The establishment class were as furious at this as they were terrified that he could well win the next time, so they ramped up the relentless bombardment of bullshit to extraordinary levels, hoping that years of battering people with reality-reversed "black is white" propaganda would ensure his defeat at the next election.

They repeatedly portrayed the guy as a Russian stooge, despite the fact they all knew that the Tory party in government had been raking in huge amounts in dodgy Russian donations from Russian oligarchs and Putin cronies.

Even after the guy stood up in parliament to criticise the massive flows of dodgy Russian cash into The City of London and Tory party coffers, they acted as if he’d committed some appalling political faux pas, and continued portraying him as the Russian collaborator!

They repeatedly portrayed the guy as an economic incompetent for wanting to end austerity ruination and actually invest in the drivers of future economic prosperity like education, quality public services, modern infrastructure, high-skilled jobs, public health, broadband for all, and improvement of Britain’s shambolic transport network.

They did this despite the diabolical consequences of Tory austerity ruination all around them.

They endlessly smeared the guy as a Jew-hater, despite his decades-long track record of anti-racism and solidarity with British Jewish communities protesting against the extreme-right, helping when awful people wanted to dig up their graveyards, etc.

They did this when they all knew that his opponent in the general election had written a vile novel full of antisemitic tropes about Jews controlling the media and world finance, and his pilgrimage to the statue of one of Britain’s most notorious Nazi-supporting antisemites right in the middle of the 2019 General Election campaign!

A large proportion of the guy’s own MPs joined in with the sabotage, endlessly repeating the bullshit propaganda lines against his leadership in newspaper columns and TV studios, and then they lumbered him with the absolutely unwinnable proposition of relitigating the tiresome years-long Brexit debacle all over again with a 'sore loser referendum', when the bullshit merchant he was up against simply said "Get Brexit Done" and bareface lied that he wasn’t creating a Brexit border down the Irish Sea.

In the end the horrible bastards got exactly what they wanted. The guy they hated was defeated and replaced with an establishment insider who brazenly lied to the Labour Party membership to win the leadership contest, immediately rigged the leadership nomination rules to lock pesky socialists, women, and people of colour out of the process in future, then gleefully ripped up all his pledges, policies, and promises to roaring approval from Britain’s depraved hack pack.

The relentless bombardment of bullshit worked perfectly, the establishment order got exactly what they wanted, and they’re clearly continuing to use the same kind of reality-reversed propaganda today.

Why do you think the media and virtually the entire Westminster political order keep trying to portray overwhelmingly peaceful and multicultural Palestine solidarity campaigners as some kind of violent and dangerous Islamist infiltration?

Why do you think they repeatedly present the extraordinarily dishonest, conniving, and untrustworthy liar who succeeded the guy they hated as if he’s some kind of paragon of honesty and virtuosity?

Why do you think they keep pretending that continuation of the ruinous austerity policies behind a decade and a half of enormous human suffering and lamentable economic decline is "fiscally credible" while portraying anyone who proposes a desperately needed change of course as if they’re economically insane?

They’ve realised that endlessly hammering everyone with absolute bullshit works a treat because people can’t figure out how to vote or act in their own best interests when reality is obliterated out of sight by a constant bombardment of reality-reversed nonsense.

So why would they ever stop?
