You are- unusually- wrong about Ukraine. The government there is dominated by Nazis, followers of Stepan Bandera and his colleagues who were genocidal maniacs, willing volunteers as Concentration Camp guards and perpetrators of numerous massacres of Jews, Poles and socialists. I live in a country in which the influence of unreconstructed SS veterans as well as Ustashe exiles and every kind of Nazi collaborator remains strong. You might recall the speactacle of an SS 'hero' who 'killed Russians' being given a standing and apparently unanimous ovation in Canada's Parliament.

Ukraine, encouraged by Boris Johnson et al, did, indeed provoke the war by the persecution of Russian speakers (Russian is the lingua franca) and their killing of opponents. Remember the Odessa Massacre of 2014.

The 'abandonment' of the Kiev regime is long overdue- it has banned all political opposition, taken over all the media (AAV-like Gonzalo Lira -would be arrested, tortured and killed) and more than decimated the population.

Much of the blame for this lies with NATO governments that preserved the Nazi collaborator emigre organisations which, after Ukrainian independence , rushed into the country (as well as the Baltic states for example) and promoted agendas of russophobia, neo-liberalism and subservience to the American Empire.

As to Ukrainian resources they, including agricultural land, have been auctioned off-unconstitutionally- to foreign investors, including Wall St Hedge Funds, for several years. It is to be hoped that under the Peace Treaty the Ukrainan people, not Joe Biden's oligarch friends, will be restored to the ownership of the resources which will make them prosperous again.

The cynicism is off the Richter scale, and just shows (yet again) what ANY US intervention in foreign nations is really all about.
