This is what happens when you trust the extreme-right
Emmanuel Macron relied on the extreme-right Le Pen family cabal to lock the winning left-green coalition out of power, but his minority government has collapsed in the space of just three months
Just three months ago Emmanuel Macron cooked up an obscene plan with the extreme-right Le Pen family cabal to impose Michel Barnier as Prime Minister and lock the winning left-green coalition out of political power.
Barnier represents a conservative party that finished a distant fourth in the elections, and Macron sought the backing of the extreme-right to foist him on a French public that clearly didn’t want him.
Barnier then put forward a diabolical austerity budget and challenged the French parliament to stop him, which they’ve just done with a no confidence motion that passed by 331 votes to 288.
It’s been a thoroughly disastrous year for Macron, who lost the European Parliament election; called a parliamentary election in a fit of rage and then lost that too; colluded with the extreme-right to impose an unwanted Prime Minister with an unwanted austerity agenda; then watched that government collapse when his extreme-right enablers pulled the plug.
Now he’s facing calls to resign as President as a result of the chaos he’s created.
It’s constitutionally forbidden for the French to have another legislative election until July 2025, so the chaos looks set to continue, and the blame lies squarely with Macron himself.
Macron’s allies are obviously trying to pin the blame on the left-green coalition that called the no confidence vote in opposition to Barnier’s unwanted austerity budget, but it’s simply absurd to blame anyone but Macron.
If he’d not had a temper tantrum and called the snap election, he’d never have put himself in the position of having to rely on Marine Le Pen’s extreme-right fanatics to lock the left out of political power in the first place.
He was an absolute fool to trust the extreme-right, and the fact that they’ve turned on him after just three months to create even more chaos is hardly surprising.

No. This is what happens when you ignore the actual result of an election you didn't have to call and install an unelected right wing government who try to 'pass' a terrible budget using 49.3 (again).
Not as if they weren't warned.
Well done the NFP (collective left) for bringing the much deserved motion de censure & fair enough the RN for voting for it.
The "centre" (left or right) will always opt for the right when faced with the only other option being a true left/socialist alternative. The "centre" is still capitalist and, often, white supremacist, and capitalism, even "compassionate capitalism", needs to keep workers under control and divisions between white people and the "others".
