Bit like all the fuss about a few Israeli hostages who have been there for a few months, compared to thousands of Palestinian prisoners locked up for many years without even being charged. or the destruction of 7 October compared to years and years of Israeli incursions into Palestine, the destruction of their orchards, homes and residents. Horrible daily torture; but nobody in the mainstream dared to report it; some of it is coming out now, but not enough yet.
If we're destined to lose our planet to climate change, portraits of dead bureaucrats and politicians won't be my first concern. Red paint, knife slashes, or burnt in the desiccated planet - what's the difference?
We had a similar thing here in Cambridge (UK) when some climate activists dug up a small patch of lawn outside Trinity College. The outrage was extraordinary, and this is from supposedly liberal Cambridge types who would definitely like to be seen as being concerned about the environment.... but no, this was a step too far! A tiny patch of grass temporarily dug up. It illustrated our hypocrisy beautifully when you imagine that little lawn against the backdrop of environmental destruction across the globe! (Trinity ,(and the University), btw, have many links to fossil fuel companies etc which is why they were targeted)
Thank you for mentioning those old churches. I'm not Christian, but I am a historian. Destruction of those churches built during the time of the Roman Empire is every bit as terrible as the Taliban blowing up those Buddha statues in Afghanistan. It's a loss to all humanity.
Vandalizing a painting of a long dead British imperialist is nothing compared to that.
Fascists will do what fascists do! Your article exposes the total adoption that the fascists making an uproar over Balfour have made of fascism. It is clear that the Zionists aim to wipe Palestine and Palestines out of history. In 20 years no one under the age of 30 will even know what a Palestine was.

Many thanks for this.
It reminds me of Americans who take the news of school shootings in their stride but lose their s**t when some footballer takes the knee.

Very well said.
