Yanis Varoufakis made an interesting observation on a Politics Joe interview this week. He thinks that Starmer will be even to the right of the Tories. It does feel as though he is making a pitch to the Islamophibic vote of those lashing out at scapegoats as they suffer under the neo liberally economics favoured by Starmer himself.

Many liberals e.g. Alistair Campbell, are flowing crocodile tears for Navalny - but did they ever give a fuck about Dr. David Kelly? and as you say, they certainly don't give a stuff about Julian Assange. Hypocrites the lot of them.

The Russian Cominist party not the main opposition as they give Putin no opposition. They are just aloud to exist in the Duma to give Putin a vinier of electrol legitimacy. Navalny can be called the "main opposition" because there really is very few others that are opposing Putin. To say the KPRF are any sort of opposition is to not understand the situation. Maybe review this bit? I'm interested in your thoughts on his political pastor. I will do some research into this, thanks doe this bit.

I’d love to know how much MI6 & the CIA had to do with his decision to return to Russia. In much the same way they have been behind Zelensky’s decisions they would’ve regarded Navalny as a piece of propaganda to be used against Putin and if he ended up dead, all the better because then they’d have a Martyr with which to bash Putin knowing full well the liberal media and politicians of the west would all play their parts.

Thanks very much for this article: it makes perfect sense. And yes, it’s just disgraceful that Starmer and the rest of the establishment cry rivers for Navalny but are silent on Assange.

Really appreciated this, learnt a lot. I had no idea the Mother Theresaesque rating was so misplaced.

Gleaned from Wikipedia on Nivalny>> ...FOLLOWING RIOTS AFTER A MURDER BY AN IMMIGRANT...

"The basis of my approach is that you have to communicate with nationalists and educate them... I think it's very important to explain to them that the problem of illegal immigration is not solved by beating up migrants but by other, democratic means".

In a 2017 interview, Navalny declared support for regulated immigration from Central Asia, but did not see it as valuable. In a 2020 interview, he reiterated support for regulated immigration.

In 2021, Alexander Verkhovskiy, head of the Moscow-based SOVA hate crimes monitor, said that Navalny's statements on immigration were 'a long time ago' and that he was a 'different man'.

This refers the reading I did on as well. Some of his videos are nasty and dated. I think it's easy to forget how right-wing Eastern Europe is. Either way, Tom is using it as it stick to beat both starma and Navalny whilst hidding behind his normal fig leaf of (bullshit) balance. Thanks for a little counterweight
