It's going to be a blood bath. The last vestiges of Christianity in the region will be extinguished. Lebanon next, then Iran... Project for the next 'American' century that Bush Sr and the Anglo-Zionist cabal dreamed up and Blair the war criminal and Bush Jr enacted after the false flag that was 9/11.... War pigs and oil boys...

AN OPEN LETTER TO TULSI GABBARD: THE DANGERS OF HAVING A DICTATOR’S ALLY IN CHARGE OF NATIONAL DEFENSE

“Your nomination as Director of National Intelligence is a catastrophe waiting to happen. Entrusting someone with your record—marked by overt sympathies for despots, a troubling embrace of conspiracy theories, and a consistent undermining of credible intelligence—with safeguarding America’s security is a risk this country cannot afford to take.” Read more…

Embrace of conspiracy theories? That’s a rich coming from someone who has clearly swallowed the smear tactics and outright lies regarding Tulsi Gabbard. I’m no fan of her’s either, but to accuse a decorated officer in the US military of basically being a traitor to her country, after she’s served repeatedly in war zones, particularly in Military Intelligence, with only the misinformation from her political enemies as “proof” is extremely crass and unbelievably naive. Why would you believe the very same people whom are known to have lied again and again about needless wars, fake “Russia-gate” bullshit, and much much more? Gabbard is not suitable for that position, but not for the reasons to give. Because they are smears and lies.

Remembering what happened in previous “regime change” targets - Iraq, Libya - it appears that the U.S. lead Western Imperialists have once again been caught with their pants down and failed to have put any thought into ‘What happens after”, let alone any strategy or plans developed. All the ingredients are there in Syria which were also present in Libya, i hope for the sake of the Syrian people it turns out differently.

p.s. It’s for ‘Years’ that Israel have been bombing Syrian territory, rather than for “months”.

It seems to me that, by withdrawing from the country, Assad and his supporters in Russia and Iran have made the only legal and sensible manoeuvre.

Any violence or destruction that occurs after today is clearly the responsibility of the actors on the ground, i.e., US occupational military, Kurdish factions, Turkish participants, Israeli military invaders and all their proxy jihadist contractors or mercenary employees (regardless of their multiple and recent rebrandings).

A little known fact is that the neoliberal powers of the West LOVE Islamist extremists - they are authoritarian and good to have onside in the battle to shore up the current global order. Anything rather than let people in the "global south" have democracy - the very idea! Mark Curtis details the British secret services' collaboration with Islamist extremists in his book "Secret Affairs".

Thanks for this sane view. What seems to be overlooked is that, horrendous as dictatorships are, there is at least a certain amount of stability - until, as now, the dam breaks, when people who have not been able to take any decisions for year, suddenly have to be able to. ANd of course all the Western powers will want to grab what they can for themselves, upsetting the applecart still further; we just have to wait and hope.

I'm really hoping Rojava can hold together. As far as the moneyed interest in the region, I'd bet BCCI has had some form of influence on the current financial structure..

"What are we? Made out of Money? We got no money for houses for the bottom half. We spent it all on war and military bases" Imaginary quote from real President Dr Strangelove explaining why he did nothing for the bottom half in 4 years. He continued saying...."look I succeeded in bringing AL Nusra to power in Syria and a hellofa good war to Ukraine and you want to talk to me about houses for homeless Americans.....if I spent Time worrying about the bottom half in the United States of America do you think I'd have money and time to order USA military to launch rocket attacks on Russians in Russia from USA military bases in Ukraine? "

At least 10 USA military bases in Syria. US military bases in at least 140 countries. Build houses for the homeless.....What are we? Made out of Money?

On public radio..maybe NT times show ..."The Daily"".....they were talking about why former Syria government did not have enough money....they mentioned that

the oil wells the United States occupied... they said the oil the USA was "taking" (ie "stealing") had made up 40 % of the Syrian government budget.

Can you imagine another country occupying oil wells in Alaska Texas and Louisiana and "taking" 40 % of the United States budget? (Never once did they use words like "stealing their oil" or "theft"....oddly they acted like it was normal to attack and occupy another country's oil fields and "take" their oil and 40% of the national budget...."

We have apparently at least 10 military bases in Syria .....we occupy Syria and kill people...with no declaration of war! Never mind the USA constitution.

Call me suspicious but I believe I believe Joe Biden gave the orders.... Overthrow Syria Government before Trump takes office.....I believe behind the scenes the USA CIA military etc went to all military allied....the Saudi and Jordanian and other Royalty Dictatorships and Israel and Turkey and Britain and France and said to all of them......Now is the time for a blitzkrieg takeover before January.... and the United States probably spent a covert couple Billion Dollars funding all this..

I'm so tired of all these wars... in the immortal words of the accidental American civil rights leader Rodney King "Can't we all just get along? ".. and maybe Donald Trump could surprise us all. .. work to end all the wars... and win the Nobel Peace Prize for reducing Standing Army's around the world.....

After all Barack Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize just for not being George Bush the Junior.... before he came out in favor of war everywhere forever like Hillary Clinton Joe Biden and John Kerry etc etc.

Can you imagine if the USA took every penny spent since 2008 alone on attacking and occupying Syria......converted a couple Arsonals to making several versions of a universal design prefabricated house and or trailers and literally had given them away to people in the united states of america. We probably could have eliminated homelessness in the United States.... ..but our Monopoly Parties don't enjoy that as much as partnering with Bone Saw Saudi Royalty in wars ... doesn't funding these "rebels" violate the United States constitution prohibition on spending money to promote religion?

Again let me say.. I've never been there and I endorse no one. Just an end to all the violence.

Is there any Arab country that overthrew Royalty that the United States of America has not attacked?

I edited my original comment above to restack it as commentary.....but ....

On this site there is no restack option? I'm guessing an option for "another angry voice" who I was originally responding to re: number of us military bases in and around Syria.....is to allow "share" but not "restack"????

This is sort of a Substack question.... I'm an old Luddite now an "online Luddite"... and I am frequently confused. I am using the "reply" to my own reply because there is "notes" option. I'm so confused.

Julani comes from the same bunch who just a few years ago beheaded a twelve year old and burnt a man in a cage. They can dress him up in a suit and parade him on CNN but it doesn’t change who he is or what he stands for. It will end badly.

An excellent analysis especially in your caveat of listening to what is not spoken of by all parties.
